In 1929, the third edition of the fair was held, and it continued annually up to the thirteenth edition. However, the event came to a halt in 1939, just before the outbreak of World War II. The fair later resumed its activities in 1962
The Tripoli International Fair joined the International Exhibitions Association in 1929, becoming the first Arab exhibition to be accepted as a member of this international organization. It also played an important role as a founding member of the Arab Union for Exhibitions and Conferences in 1995.
